Last week, Past President Diane de Garis and new President Stephen Rouxel met with representatives of the Committee for Economic Development to discuss the progress being in the banking review which Chamber, as a key stakeholder, has been calling for.

The review and its results are comprehensive and should result in better access to business banking, better access to consumer credit and a more open banking landscape. Commenting on the recommendations that have been made Diane said “It is great to see the progress being made in pushing for a better business banking proposition on Guernsey”.

Stephen added “It’s great to see so many stakeholders all agreeing that change is needed and a common goal agreed”.

Whilst the recommendations are, at this time, embargoed, Chamber is positive of the direction of travel and the recommendations that have been made and will continue to push the Committee to ensure the benefits of this review are felt by all sectors of the business community, not just the finance sector.
