Chamber has been meeting with States officers to understand the Social Security changes proposed as part of the ‘GST Plus’ package.

We’re continuing to push government for clarity on the proposed Social Security changes  that are included in the ‘GST Plus’ package, as there will be a significant impact for businesses.

But, despite repeated requests, we have not yet received the data needed to properly assess these proposals. This includes a full breakdown of the £17m additional employer cost, and clear,  data tables showing how contribution rates, allowances, and the income base will change across all categories.

Without this, businesses do not have all the information to respond meaningfully to the proposals – we will continue to press government and make sure Member’s views are heard.
