Every month, we pose questions to a Chamber member. This time it’s Jason Connolly, from Parity Technologies

1. Who are you & what do you do?

I’m the Sales & Marketing Director at Parity Technologies, where we’re on a mission to build the most trusted and respected technology partner in Guernsey. Too many IT companies offer average service and poor value; at Parity, we’re determined to be different.

Our goal is simple: to be the island’s best IT business – the best employer, the best service, the happiest clients, and the strongest expertise – all delivered as a natural extension of our clients’ own teams.

2. How did you end up doing this work?

Many people know me from my time at Next Generation IT, where I spent 14 years helping grow the business from six employees to ninety. I loved that journey — the energy, the teamwork, and the reward of building something meaningful.

3. What’s the ‘why’ behind your work?

A few years ago, I stepped back from my career after having a stroke.

It was a lifechanging pause that gave me valuable time with my family, allowed me to travel, spend time in or on the sea every day, and finally get through the never-ending list of DIY jobs.  I loved that period, but I missed the energy of working with people, solving challenges, and building momentum. I knew I had more to give.

That’s when I met Steve Stanton. Steve had built a trusted local IT business and was looking for someone to help take it further. From the first conversation, it felt like the right fit.

4. What’s something most people don’t know about your company, but they should?

Despite being a small team, Parity has significant depth. Steve had already built a respected local company with a loyal client base, and it was immediately clear that his drive and technical expertise is exceptional.

The depth of experience here is substantial, and Steve’s commitment to doing things properly — with integrity, clarity, and genuine care — gives me complete confidence in the service we offer.

5. Tell us about a moment you felt proud of the difference your work made?

I’m proud of many things throughout my career, but most of all building the success of Next Generation IT, which took years of consistent hard work, commitment and attention to detail.  Helping clients grow from start‑ups into established Guernsey names was hugely rewarding.

6. What’s shaped how you think about your work?

My early career at Xerox gave me an excellent foundation. The training: Kaizen, leadership through quality, customer focus, was world-‑class. As a graduate I was seconded to the marketing team, working directly with Managing Director Dr Guy Rabbat, a true disruptor who transformed the business.

6. Tea, coffee, or something stronger? (And where do you enjoy it?)

Coffee! We have an excellent bean-to-cup machine, best enjoyed with the bacon & egg rolls Steve brings in on Friday mornings!
