Guernsey Chamber of Commerce has selected the Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) as its 2026 Charity of the Year
This partnership builds on the Chamber’s commitment to supporting initiatives that make a meaningful impact in the community.
GET’s mission to promote inclusive employment for disabled, neurodiverse, and disadvantaged islanders aligns strongly with the Chamber’s values around creating opportunity, strengthening Guernsey’s workforce, and supporting a thriving, inclusive economy.

The announcement follows GET celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025 and the recent launch of the second edition of the Employers’ Disability Charter. The Charter builds on a decade of helping employers create more inclusive, accessible and supportive workplaces, and aligns with the Prevention of Discrimination (Guernsey) Ordinance, 2022.
Since its inception, GET has received over 1,197 referrals, supported 834 unpaid placements, and facilitated 870 employment contracts, with an average job retention rate of 77%. GET support approximately 200 employers each year, including approximately 30 States of Guernsey departments.
GET is committed to supporting disabled and neurodivergent individuals in preparing for, finding, and maintaining employment. Its free services are designed to support not only people with disabilities but also employers, helping businesses create fair, legally compliant, and psychologically safe workplaces.
Alice Gill, Chamber’s Executive Director said:
“GET has spent over a decade proving that when you give people the right support, they don’t just find work, they thrive in it. That benefits individuals, employers, and the whole island – and we want to super charge this.”
Working closely with charities and not-for-profits is important to the Chamber. Throughout the year, the Chamber will promote GET’s work and offer business support. When registering for Chamber events, attendees will be invited to make an optional donation of between £1 and £20 to GET, ensuring the partnership delivers practical financial support alongside profile-raising activities.
