Guernsey Chamber welcomes the transparency of the recent MyGov report into the governance and delivery of major public sector transformation programmes
It is important to note that this report is not read in isolation – linked programmes such as the Revenue Service transformation remain incomplete and are reliant on workarounds, and yet to be fully reported on publicly.
The level of expenditure identified is a matter of concern, particularly in the current economic context.
However, it is encouraging to see the States taking ownership of these systemic failures. The business community now expects a new standard of delivery, where commitments made to businesses and taxpayers are met in full.
We believe it is imperative that the reforms promised today are implemented transparently, to clear timescales, and within budget.
