We recently met with our counterparts at the Jersey Chamber of Commerce to continue our ongoing collaboration. These catch-ups take place regularly and provide a valuable opportunity to share ideas, exchange information and explore ways we can work together for the benefit of both islands. Our belief is simple: by working closer together, we can go further, faster.

The discussion covered a wide range of key topics for our business communities, including skills, education, housing, sustainability, and connectivity. One of the most pressing issues was inter-island connectivity. While we currently have a daily foot passenger ferry service, we are down to just one service a week for vehicles and freight. We explored the impact of this on both communities and considered whether our Chambers should take a more active role in facilitating in this space.

Looking ahead, both Chambers are keen to strengthen our joint approach, ensuring regular communication and where its right, shared objectives. We believe this continued collaboration will  support a more connected, resilient and forward-looking Channel Islands business community.
