Camp de Rêves receives Guernsey’s first King’s Award for Enterprise

It’s not every day a local business gets recognised at the highest level — but that’s exactly what’s happened this week.

Camp de Rêves, a luxury glampsite in St Peter’s, has just become the first Guernsey company to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise, one of the most prestigious honours for UK businesses.

Their win comes in the Sustainable Development category, recognising the work they’ve done to offer an exceptional visitor experience while treading lightly on the planet — through thoughtful design, eco-friendly materials and a real commitment to reducing environmental impact.

It’s a national moment — but for us at Chamber, this story started closer to home.

Last year, Camp de Rêves was the inaugural winner of our People & Planet Award. Danny & Jane Barnes were honoured for building a business that’s commercially strong, environmentally responsible, and rooted in community values.

At Chamber, we believe in the power of businesses that balance operational success with social and environmental responsibility. Speaking about the King’s Award, Stpehen Rouxel, President of Guernsey Chamber said:

“This recognition shines a spotlight on the calibre of businesses that are thriving here, and the values that drive them. It’s a moment of pride not just for the company, but for our whole community.”

The King’s Award gives recipients the right to use the official emblem for five years, fly the Award flag at their premises, and attend a royal reception hosted by His Majesty The King.

“The criteria for The King’s Awards are demanding,” said Deputy Steve Falla, “but this win shows it’s absolutely worth it. It’s good for business, good for tourism, and good for Guernsey.”

To see Camp de Rêves receive national recognition is both exciting and affirming. It shows that businesses with strong values and big ambitions can make a real mark, starting right here in Guernsey.

We hope Camp de Rêves is the first of many local businesses to be recognised in this way. If you’re building something that’s making a difference — in sustainability, innovation, trade or social mobility — we’d love to support you in applying next year.
