Art for Guernsey announces an upcoming exhibition exploring the legacy of Olaudah Equiano, featuring artwork by Nigerian artist Uthman Wahaab and photography by Guernsey-based Paul Frank.
The exhibition highlights Equiano’s life as an African writer and abolitionist, born around 1745 in present-day Nigeria, who spent time in Guernsey.
Wahaab, known for his works on post-colonialism and identity, created pieces inspired by Equiano during a recent residency. Frank, a dentist and photographer, showcases images from his trips to Africa, capturing its landscapes, wildlife, and culture.
