Five lawyers, from leading legal and governance services firm Mourant, have been recognised in the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards, receiving more accolades than any other firm.

Partner, Eleanor Morgan, was named ‘Woman of the Year – Future Leaders – Partner, Director’, Rachel Guthrie, now Counsel, won ‘Woman of the Year – Future Leaders – Senior Associate’ and Roisin Cullinane, now Senior Associate, won ‘Woman of the Year – Future Leaders – Associate’. In the ‘Women of the Year- Rising Star’ category, Mourant had two winners with Senior Associates, Iona Mitchell and Hana Plsek receiving Gold and Silver awards respectively.

Eleanor is Managing Partner and Head of the Litigation department for the firm’s BVI office with extensive experience acting on a wide range of international litigation, contentious trust and insolvency matters. Eleanor has been involved in many of the largest offshore disputes to come before the BVI Court and speaks at many leading international conferences.

Roisin, who has been with the firm since 2013, is Senior Associate in the firm’s top-tier Jersey funds practice and advises a number of real estate and private equity funds, fund promoters and other financial services providers. This is the second consecutive Powerwomen Award for Roisin, who won Silver in the same category last year.

Rachel, who joined Mourant in 2011, is Counsel and Head of the firm’s Guernsey Employment practice and specialises in all areas of contentious and non-contentious employment law, advising global and local companies.

Iona is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Guernsey Litigation practice, dealing with a wide range of complex commercial disputes. As a previous part-time tutor at the University of Edinburgh, Iona continues to act as a guest seminar leader and volunteers as a legal adviser at the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Hana is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Guernsey Employment practice and specialises in contentious and non-contentious employment law. Hana is a regular speaker on employment related matters, contributes to articles and provide training to clients with regards to employment law.

The Citywealth Powerwomen Awards champion women in the wealth sector and highlight the female leaders of today and tomorrow. The Awards spotlight individuals and companies who support care giving responsibilities, female leadership and celebrate diversity, and who maximise the potential of women in leadership roles within wealth, to create a platform for best practice to collectively exercise positive social influence on the sector.
