Leading global investor services group IQ-EQ is pleased to announce the return of Jacques Vermeulen to its Guernsey funds business, following his promotion to Client Services Director while on a two-year secondment in the United States.

Since joining the group in 2009 as a senior administrator, Jacques has achieved successive promotions including his recent promotion from associate director to client services director in August 2019 while working as part of IQ-EQ USA in New York.

Having returned to Guernsey at the end of 2020, Jacques is now part of the IQ-EQ Guernsey leadership team and will be focused on driving the business development strategy for the jurisdiction while managing key intermediary relationships and supporting the other client service directors in developing and promoting services to existing clients. Jacques will also maintain his connections in the US and – pandemic permitting – will be travelling regularly to the UK, Europe, the US and beyond to promote IQ-EQ’s Guernsey funds offering.

An experienced funds professional with 17 years under his belt, Jacques has played an instrumental role in building IQ-EQ’s presence and reputation in New York City and across the Americas as a whole. While working in New York, Jacques signed and on-boarded a number of large new clients, including three of the firm’s top 10 US deals. He sat on the board of the US company and was also an active driver of business referrals to IQ-EQ’s other worldwide jurisdictions.

Commenting on his appointment, Jacques said:
“I’m excited to be returning to my home island of Guernsey after two years spent working in the US in the fastest growing funds market in the world. This secondment gave me the opportunity to lead a diverse team and gain exposure to emerging markets such as Brazil and Peru. I’m looking forward to using my international experience and contacts to drive new opportunities for the Guernsey business and collaborating with my local and international colleagues to continue promoting IQ-EQ as a top global provider in the alternative funds space.”

Managing Director of IQ-EQ Guernsey, David Preston, added:
“We’re delighted to welcome Jacques back to the Guernsey business as the island’s funds industry becomes increasingly prominent on the world stage and as we at IQ-EQ continue to build our profile across the EMEA and American markets. I’m excited to see the fresh and innovative ideas Jacques will bring with his newly-gained international experience and look forward to working closely with him and the rest of the local leadership team to take our Guernsey operations to new heights.”
