The Consortium has developed a series of clear and effective training modules available both face to face presented at the PRCPA and as online modules.

A message from our Charity of the Year, Guernsey Employment Trust.

As part of our role in The Consortium, we are delivering a comprehensive training and development programme to assist employers and service providers in understanding and preparing for the of the incoming Prevention of Discrimination Ordinance.

There are five different training sessions in the series;

  • Foundation course
  • Introduction to the new Discrimination Ordinance
  • Employers’ responsibilities
  • Service providers’ responsibilities
  • Accessibility and reasonable adjustments

These workshops (each 1.5 hours in length) can be attended in any order, or as standalone sessions.  Each session is being repeated four times, at different times of the day to make it accessible to as many people as possible.  The training is being delivered at the Performing Arts Centre but each session will also have a MS Teams online session, as we appreciate that people are busy and this might be a good option.

What makes our training unique, is that we have included videos, throughout the sessions, of local contributors talking about either their lived experience of disability or how they have made their workplaces or services more accessible.

The Consortium was appointed as the joint training provider by the Guernsey Committee for Employment and Social Security on the requirements of the incoming legislation and is led by Walkers and The Guernsey Institute and includes Equality Guernsey, Guernsey Employment Trust and Focus HR.

We look forward to seeing you there.  Book tickets by visiting www.consortium.gg
