The RIBA Regional Awards recognise excellence in UK architecture across a range of sectors. RIBA has been celebrating outstanding work for over 180 years. RIBA awards and prizes are regarded internationally as a mark of excellence. Each shortlisted project is visited by a judging panel.

A RIBA Regional Award is given to a UK building for its regional importance as a piece of architecture. Judges will visit Guernsey and The Bathing Pools at the end of March.

For 50 years the RIBA awards and prizes for buildings have championed and celebrated the best
architecture in the UK and around the world, no matter the form, size or budget.

David De La Mare, Managing Director of DLM Architects, said “We are excited and honoured that the Bathing Pools has been shortlisted in the prestigious RIBA Awards 2024. It has been fantastic to experience the positive social impact the project has had on our community and now for it to be
recognised alongside the best architecture in the UK.”

David Warr Chairman of Vive La Vallette LBG said ‘When we commissioned DLM Architects to design the new facilities at La Vallette the brief was to design a building that would stand the test of time, maximize the potential of the site and provide a welcoming accessible space for all. David de la Mare and his team have achieved all of the above and more and the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive. Guernsey now has a World class facility to compliment the outdoor swimming facilities of which all involved can be proud.’
