Citizens Advice in Guernsey dealt with nearly 11,000 enquiries in 2021 and it is very likely that they will be approached more in 2022 and the next few years, particularly as the pressures concerning housing and personal finances increase. In addition to dealing with enquiries we provide valuable data and information to influence and assist in legal and social policy reform.

Guernsey’s Citizens Advice is funded, in the most part, by its charity shop. The shop is currently on The Bridge, but will soon relocate (due to the Leale’s Yard development) to the former Bourgs Hospice shop on Mont Arrive.

Sadly, some of the extremely loyal volunteers who helped man the shop have taken this change as a time to retire. In addition, the new premises are larger and will require more staff. We are urgently seeking new volunteers to join the team.

Generally volunteers work a half day shift once or twice a week (whatever suits the volunteer). There are always at least two volunteers per shift, but more would be great! Tasks include sorting the items donated, dressing the shop and generally maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the shop, assisting customers, etc.

Our volunteers find this work very rewarding, the team very friendly and welcoming and their input is instrumental to the continuing vital work that Citizens Advice in Guernsey provides to support the Bailiwick.

We would love to have you on board!
