Tea is the world’s most popular drink (apart from water). In Britain alone, we drink over 100 million cups of tea every day. The production of this tea provides work for 13 million people globally – but only 1 in 5 tea farmers and workers earn enough every month to support their families with the essentials. As individuals and businesses, we can all change this, one cup at a time. By switching to a Fairtrade certified tea brand, you help to ensure that tea workers and farmers get a better deal.

This Fairtrade Fortnight, from 22nd September to 5th October 2025, Fairtrade Guernsey is asking local businesses and other organisations to showcase Fairtrade tea to their clients, customers and colleagues. It could be a breakfast brew, a bake-off or cake sale using tea as a key ingredient, an afternoon tea party or an evening reception with tea-based cocktails. Or simply introduce Fairtrade tea to your staff room and regular meetings or events.

The following resources are available from Fairtrade Guernsey to support you in this campaign:

  • Details of local Fairtrade suppliers on https://fairtradeguernsey.com/buy-local/
  • Posters and postcards to explain and promote the initiative to customers
  • Fairtrade tea recipes
  • Social media boosts – tag @FairtradeGuernsey when you post and we will like and share

Digital downloads of these resources will be available to download from the Fairtrade Guernsey website towards the end of August. Or get in touch to request a physical resource
pack and let us know your plans – we would love to hear from you and to share what you’re up to.

We hope you can join our campaign to serve and promote Fairtrade tea this September and beyond.

Together, we can Brew it Fair and stand with the people behind the tea we drink.
