We welcome the positive response from the finance and hospitality sectors to the introduction of the Heathrow route, which presents them with opportunities for growth. As this service is being supported by public funds, it is essential that both government and industry now share a clear strategy to ensure that this investment delivers meaningful economic returns.
We believe the Heathrow link could bring benefits, provided it does not undermine the core Aurigny services – namely the early and late Gatwick returns and the London City route.
The review of Guernsey’s Air Policy Framework is now more urgent than ever. A joined-up, strategic approach to decisions about air transport is vital to safeguarding long-term resilience and reliability.
