Regulatory and risk expert Amy Gurm has been appointed as Advisory Associate Director for KPMG in the Channel Islands.
Mrs Gurm is on secondment from KPMG in Toronto, bringing with her a wealth of experience in international regulatory and risk services. Her knowledge will enhance the expertise of the local advisory team and benefit both new and existing clients.
Mrs Gurm has a proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships. Her career has been focused on the financial services sector, specifically in banking and funds. Amongst other things, Mrs Gurm has worked as a subject matter expert on many KPMG engagements, including Board governance and Functional reviews; regulatory lead for multiple global initiatives and the development of outsourcing functions for a financial services regulator in Canada.
More than nine years of practice in advisory services has allowed Mrs Gurm experience in developing, employing, assessing and documenting business controls and system processes. She has supported the development and execution of regulatory process testing for fund companies, large financial institutions and insurance organisations.
In her leisure time, she is an avid movie fanatic and ocean-enthusiast and her experiences include scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef. She has relocated to Jersey with her husband to begin their next adventure.
Robert Kirkby, Executive Director, KPMG in the Channel Islands, says:
‘I am delighted to welcome Amy to the Channel Islands team. Over a number of years we have worked together through our network on mutual engagements and it’s a great pleasure to provide a stimulating career option for Amy as well as introducing new ideas and skills to our local team and ultimately, of course, our clients.’
