Specialist public relations and copywriting agency Sweet PR has merged with local communications agency Black Vanilla.

The partnership between Black Vanilla’s founder Jade Isabelle and Nichole Culverwell (née Sweetsur) will bring together the specialist skills of media relations, social media, stakeholder management, copywriting and crisis communications with the broader marketing services of media buying and event management. Both consultancies regularly handle campaigns for Guernsey-based organisations as well as businesses in the UK.

Sweet PR’s clients have been integrated into Black Vanilla and the agency’s existing accounts will be able to benefit from in-house copywriting services and public relations strategies.

Black Vanilla, which is based on The Grange, takes a ‘best team’ approach for clients, often working with other consultants and agencies to build client-specific, multi-discipline teams. The agency’s diverse client list includes businesses from the hospitality, insurance, construction, finance, wellbeing and aviation sectors amongst others.

Nichole Culverwell, Founder of Sweet PR, brings 25 years of PR and writing experience to Black Vanilla. She ran her own agency in London before moving to Guernsey five years ago. Nichole has worked in both consumer and B2B sectors and has overseen campaigns for brands such as Boots the Chemist, Pfizer Healthcare and Generali Worldwide.

‘In an age where developing trust and reputation is essential for a brand’s success, public relations and specialisms like crisis communications and stakeholder management are more relevant than ever before,’ says Nichole Culverwell, Black Vanilla’s new Director.

She continues: ‘We speak to many organisations who require senior marketing counsel, often at CEO and board level, so having two experienced professionals, working in partnership, at the helm of Black Vanilla will be attractive to prospective clients.’

‘We have worked with Sweet PR for several years on a number of successful campaigns and I am delighted to bring Nichole and her clients into the agency. I believe our partnership will drive growth for Black Vanilla and her experience and skills will be of great benefit to our existing and future clients. Put simply, we are stronger together,’ says Jade Isabelle, Founder and Director of Black Vanilla.

Expansion plans for the agency include developing a team of trained copywriters to meet the growing demand from clients for well-written and unique content for both on and offline media, strengthening event management services and forming strategic partnerships with other Channel Islands agencies.
