The NatWest International Island Games will be returning to Guernsey 3-9 July 2021,
and the Organising Committee has recently appointed Sure as their Technology
Partner following a tender process.
Commenting on the appointment, Colin le Conte, IT Director for Guernsey 2021, said
“We are delighted to be working with Justin Bellinger and his team at Sure in the run up to 2021. Their level of expertise, experience and commitment to the Island community made them the best match for our requirements.”
“We have a number of initiatives that we are looking at ahead of 2021, and connectivity at all venues and across the Island will be of paramount importance, so this is an essential appointment for us.”
Justin Bellinger, the Chief Digital Officer for Sure, echoed Colin’s thoughts on connectivity “Quick and easy access will be important to everyone interested in the Games, from visiting media posting updates, to local spectators who want to check the latest events and results. We are looking forward to working with the Guernsey 2021 Organising Committee in making the event as connected as possible. It is a great opportunity for us to be able to support the Island community as well as the wider audience that the Games will attract and we have already started working at a number of the venues in order to improve WiFi connections.”
Teams from 23 Islands will be competing in 14 sports during the week, with over 20
venues being used around the Island. Further details about the Games can be found at www.guernsey2021.gg.
