Deloitte announces the further expansion of its advisory team with two new appointments and a promotion to Director within the team.

Harriet Gowan and Chris Macdonald have recently joined as Manager and Senior Manager respectively, and Sally Rochester has achieved promotion to Director.

Formed four years ago, Deloitte’s advisory team now comprises of 14 specialists across both Guernsey and Jersey. The team expects to grow further in order to meet increasing demand.

Chris is a qualified chartered accountant with extensive experience in insolvency and restructuring. Originally from New Zealand, he has experience in a number of sectors including real estate, funds and hospitality. He has recently moved to Guernsey from the British Virgin Islands, where he worked on cross-border asset tracing, liquidations and investigations.

Harriet is a qualified Project Manager who joins Deloitte from the Financial Investigation Unit, where she worked in the Fraud Department and the Financial Intelligence Service. She returned to the island three years ago, having previously worked for BAE Systems in London as a Project Manager in their security consulting business.

Sally’s promotion to Director will help to ensure that Deloitte is uniquely placed to capitalise on the growing advisory requirements of the local market. She has developed extensive pan-island experience, resulting in a deep understanding of the complex regulatory environment in both islands. Ms Rochester’s technical skill and leadership have helped Deloitte to build a strong reputation in the marketplace for delivering commercial, pragmatic regulatory advice.

Alex Adam, leader of Deloitte’s advisory team, says: ‘‘Channel Island businesses are dealing with many drivers of change: local and international regulation, disruptive technologies and the international tax agenda. Alongside this, we have ageing populations, growing wealth outside of Europe and the USA and enduring political uncertainty to contend with.

‘Our multidisciplinary team has the skills and experience to help business understand and deal with these challenges. Sally’s well-deserved promotion along with the additional breadth and depth which our new appointments bring ensures that Deloitte can continue to deliver for the market in the Channel Islands during this exciting period.’
