Well where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday that we were taking down the Christmas lights and storing them away.

Well here we are the first weekend of October and we are about to start the process of putting them up again.

This years switch on has been brought forward to Saturday the 21st of November in a bid to potentially give the town traders an extra weeks trading time, which hopefully will enable them to carry on trading into 2021 and beyond after a very tough year due to Covid19.

Jax Robin the chair of St Peter Port Christmas lights and her team have worked their collective magic and have raised enough money to not only have the Christmas lights installed but to also replace and renew several of the light arrays which will mean that there will be something new for the people of Guernsey to enjoy as they wander through town.

As main contractor Event Services staff will be out and about every Sunday from now until switch on making sure the lights are up and tested in time for the Big day,

We are very lucky to have been spared the worst of what has been a pretty terrible year for everyone and we think that Christmas this year will have an even more special meaning as we all count our blessings.
