Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner 2015

The dinner, held at the St. Pierre Park Hotel, was one of the largest of recent years with just under 300 guests attending and representing businesses from all sectors of the commercial landscape in the Bailiwick.

Lord Gus O’Donnell GCB was the guest speaker and gave an entertaining and informative keynote address that mixed memories and anecdotes from his life and career as UK Cabinet Secretary inside the Treasury and Number 10 Downing Street to the balancing act of trust and respect that needs to exist between the private and public sectors.

As with previous years, the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner supported a local charity by donating the proceeds raised from the evening’s raffle draw. GO – Giving Opportunities to Young People – was this year’s nominated charity and guests showed their support and commitment by purchasing £3,190 worth of raffle tickets.

Six local companies – Bella Luce Hotel, Create, Guernsey Aero Club, Handpicked Hotels, Karting Guernsey and The Crown Club at The Old Government House Hotel kindly donated experience‐based raffle prizes.

“We were so pleased to be nominated as this year’s benefitting charity” said Sarah Bamford, Founder of GO – “and the total sum of £3,190 raised from the raffle is a major contribution to the investment that GO is making into a new computer system. I would personally like to thank not only the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce but also the six local companies who donated prizes and all the guests at the evening whose generosity made such a fantastic result possible.”
The 2015 Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Dinner was sponsored by Price Bailey Chartered Accountants and Montagu Evans Channel Islands Limited.
