Physical Aspects of Wellbeing
Musculoskeletal problems – like back pain, neck pain, headaches and overuse injuries are the second biggest cause of workdays lost in the UK. They are everybody’s business ….. but what can we do about it?
What springs to mind when you think about improving physical aspects of health in the workplace? Better ergonomic equipment – desks and chairs etc? Better postures while we work? Maybe moving more and reducing sitting-time? Well, you might be surprised to learn that while more movement is crucial, the research tells us that our physical health is influenced by way more than just the way we sit, and that a focus as things like stress and sleep quality are just as important.
In the second of our Wellbeing at Work series, Specialist Physiotherapist and Health Researcher, Dr Niamh Moloney will guide us on how we can improve physical health in the workplace. In a bid to get us tackling the most meaningful issues to change physical health, she’ll tackle some of our misconceptions about what causes conditions like back pain and challenge us to adopt positive health strategies to promote physical wellbeing in the workplace.
A light healthy lunch will be supplied.
