SBI participates in We Are Guernsey’s Sustainable Finance Week 2021 (June 8-10th)
Julie-anne Headington, co-founder of Channel Islands Adjusters Ltd, discusses the opportunities available to local insurers and policy holders. By working together, stakeholders – including insurance companies, brokers, policy holders, building trades and surveyors – can create the possibility of developing sustainable insurance cover.
Julie-anne uses her understanding of the insurance eco-system to explore how, by considering sustainability and durability at the time of repair and reinstatement, (and by taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint) everyone can benefit from working together to enable Guernsey to attain zero carbon targets.
The result could be a reduction in future insurance claims, longevity of products, reduced maintenance and less waste.
Julie-anne is a chartered loss adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. She is a member of the Executive Board of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and Chair of their Examinations Committee. She is passionate about lifelong learning and wants to be able to use her knowledge and experience in the insurance industry to make a difference. She co-founded Channel Islands Adjusters Ltd with her husband, Richard, 17 years ago.
