Chamber OGH Lunch – Sustainable Food Panel

June 20, 2022 at 12:15 - 13:45

How can our food choices help our businesses, our health, our environment, and the economy? Sponsored by Islands.

Chamber and the Sustainable Business Initiative are pleased to present our first joint event, focusing on many aspects our food choices, and how small changes can have a real impact on the resulting sustainability of our food systems.

Our three panellists will consider different aspects of the Guernsey food system and share what they have learned so far in their own journeys. Jennifer Strachan, co-lead of the Sustainable Business Initiative will then lead the speakers in a panel discussion.

Jock Pettitt, Co-Founder, The Soil Farm will focus on the journey into sustainability, understanding the collective impact and opportunity of our many day to day choices, of developing greater awareness and applying change steadily to move towards better outcomes, noting that every pound spent is a vote for the outcomes you would like to see.

Vivienne Robinson, Holistic Health Coach and co-founder of Plantier will focus on how eating more consciously benefits the body, mind and planet. Why a ‘plant-slant’ lifestyle is, quite literally, at the core of our health and the importance of quality, variety and balance in our food choices.

And finally, Gill Mabbett, Director of Sales for the Red Carnation Hotel Collection will share the sustainability measures the hotel group have implemented to date and its future goals.
