The UN has been saying for some time that the rate of nature loss could harm food sources, industry, and exacerbate climate change. This session by Alex Herschel, the lead author of Guernsey’s recently “2020 Strategy for Nature”, explores this in the Guernsey context. At the end of May 2020, The States of Guernsey’s Committee for Environment & Infrastructure endorsed the “2020 Strategy for Nature”, a framework to drive the long-term management of nature in Guernsey.
- Explores the risks of nature loss, including economic risks and how they might be mitigated.
- Provides insights into small, medium & long-term initiatives where local businesses could get involved in the implementation of the Strategy for nature to help our natural environment
- Identifies how local businesses could influence across their service area to help contribute to the implementation of the 2020 Strategy for Nature and in turn help our natural environment.
